MY TOP 5 K-DRAMAS OF ALL TIME
- STRONG WOMAN DO BONG SOON
This series has always been in my top 5 ever since it came out back in 2017. It’s all around hilarious with the two main leads having both such good romantic and comedic chemistry, being able to bounce off one another perfectly. The story itself has a lot more heart than you would think based off the poster. It has the perfect mix of intense thrilling scenes, laugh out loud jokes, and emotion thanks to the amazing cast and writers. And you know a K-DRAMA is good when you can rewatch multiple times without getting bored.
- IT’S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY
This one I believe is going to be a classic. Everything about this show is absolutely beautiful. The way it portrays mental health as well as the autistic character is very realistic and comforting. As someone that has autism, this show is pretty dear to my heart, and I’m wonderfully pleased with the writer’s and actor’s handling of such a character and giving proper representation. All the main leads beyond satisfy with their acting and really make this series that much more special.
- THE GLORY
The Glory is truly a masterpiece. The acting, the cinematography, the soundtrack, the character writing (where the show shines the most) and the message shape this show up to be one of the best K-DRAMAs I’ve had the pleasure to experience. Simple as that.
- GOBLIN (AKA Guardian: The Lonely and Great God)
I think it's a rarity that this isn’t in a K-DRAMA fan’s favorite list. It’s the classic of classics and was actually the start of my love for K-DRAMAS. What isn’t to love about this show? The story is so tragically beautiful and will make you cry your heart out almost every episode (especially the last half of the show). By the end of it you’ll wonder if all the crying was worth it, and you’ll find that it ABSOLUTELY is.
- THE KING’S AFFECTION
I recently finished this show not that long ago, and even I was surprised to find that this has become my favorite K-DRAMA of all time now. It’s not even my favorite because of the romance, though it definitely is the cherry on top, but because of the strategic moves each character makes up until the end. The writing in that regard is so well crafted and keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering who’s going to do what next. This is also a wonderful showcase of Park Eun-Bin’s acting abilities and the way she has so much contrast between characters she has played. Overall, just such an amazing show.
